Greater Philadelphia Chapter Members:
Here’s hoping that everyone had a
great summer.
The Chapter will be back in full
swing starting with our meeting and
annual casual barbecue on September 3rd.
We’ve had to move up this
meeting due to the fact that the ASIS
International Seminar has been moved up
a week this year.
Our speaker this month will be
Chip Brown of MAGLOCLEN Regional
Information Sharing Systems (RISS).
Mr. Brown will provide a
presentation on how the Middle
Atlantic-Great Lakes Organized Crime Law
Enforcement Network (MAGLOCLEN) works
with law enforcement agencies on various
levels.
For more information please see
their website www.magloclen.rissinfo.com.
As part of the September meeting we
open the floor for Officer nominations
for 2009. In the past this has been done in October but the Regional
leaders have asked that we start the
process for the upcoming year a month
early in order that the Executive
Committee can hit the ground running in
January.
Any Chapter member who wishes to
hold an office on the Executive
Committee can be nominated.
The nomination process will be
open until the October meeting when the
elections will be held. Those officers who are elected will be inducted as part of
the November meeting.
Come out to the ACE Center on the 3rd
and enjoy a nice relaxing evening. To RSVP for the meeting go to our website, www.asisgpc.org,
and click on the link to RSVP.
Please note that the phone
reservation line has been discontinued.
If you’re headed to Atlanta for
the ASIS seminar please join us for our
annual Chapter happy hour.
It will be on Sunday, September
14th from 4:15-6:15 pm at
Holman and Finch Public House. Please see the attached flyer and you can go to their
website, www.holeman-finch.com.
The Chapter also will be
participating in Canada Night once
again.
Once all the details are
finalized for this fun event I’ll be
sending them out.
In October we’ve invited Gregory
Sanders CPP to speak to the Chapter.
Mr. Sanders is a Security Advisor
for the United Nations as well as
holding a position on the Board of
Directors for ASIS International.
I hope to see you on September 3rd.
