- REPORTING
TO:
Chief Operating Officer

- Develops,
implements and maintains a
comprehensive strategic
security management plan,
including the evaluation
of current and proposed
departmental goals and
objectives, in accordance
with the Medical System's
mission, vision and
values.
- Develops
and implements long and
short term hospital-wide
strategic physical
security plans in
accordance with Medical
System needs.
- Supervises
the performance of
security staff, including,
hiring, firing,
disciplining, training and
development and
performance review.
Assists in
establishing standards of
performance and
productivity; determines
staffing needs.
- Monitors
organization’s
compliance with Federal,
State and local
fire/safety regulatory
agency standards. Inspects
and investigates employee
fire, security concerns,
making necessary
modifications to comply
with regulatory standards.
- Assures
patients', employees' and
visitors' security and
safety in accordance with
departmental procedures.
- A
Baccalaureate degree from
an accredited college in
Criminal Justice,
Industrial Security or a
related discipline or
equivalent experience is
required.
- A
minimum of seven years of
progressively responsible
professional experience in
security, or equivalent,
is required.
This includes at
least two years of
supervisory experience.
Health care experience is
preferred.
- Ability
to interpret and recommend
actions or formulate
policies to bring about
compliance with
accreditation standards is
required.
- Proficient
knowledge of quality
control techniques,
productivity management
and improvement,
negotiation techniques and
work standards is
required.
- Proficiency
and demonstrated
effectiveness in
problem-solving and
implementing new programs
related to increased
departmental
administrative operating
efficiency are required.
